The front driver side wheel arch seems to scrub going over big bumps.. looking at it stationary the wheel seems well clear, but when i go over a speed bump etc it seems to catch..

the offset on my wheels is et38 which i was told is right..

any thoughts?

I take it you mean the wheel is catching the arch, offset 38 sounds right, what size wheel do you have an is the car lowered, but also don't forget the yaris has black plastic catch strips under the front bumper, are you sure it's not them.

I had scrubbing on my first set of 16" wheels with an ET of 35 which i was told was not the best offset so i changed to an offset of 40 and i still get scrubbing though not as bad. Other people with the same offset and same size tyres say theres is fine so im not sure why mines scrubs. What profile are your tyres as that can make a difference? Mines are 195/45/16 and these are usually the recommended size on here.

i've had a look and it seems to be rubbing near the bolt in the arch.. i got 16" wheels and its lowered 40mm

Dont worry about it mate, in time it will wear a little bit of plastic away and wont rub anymore

it will be fine then

mine used to do it when i had my 16's on.

Keep an eye for signs of wear on the tyres and the wheelarches. Moffmo had issues with the bolts that attach the wing to the front bumper rubbing and ended up having to rivet the join to reduce the protrusion... but he had 17s.

Are you quite sure its the arches etc catching? Ive had the dirt sheilds behind the discs - both front and back catching before ...
