Shell V Power

Has anyone else used shells V power fuel?, I have just gone through my first tank and have managed 30mpg with it instead of the usual 27mpg (I always get 27mpg calculated from fill up to fill up....not off the calculated trip comp.!). Typical weeks driving similar distance etc, although I did find myself pushing a bit harder to prove out its extra responsiveness !, The rav felt a lot more spritely and eager

I worked out it only saved me 30p  given the extra 5p a litre it costs, but I think that may improve.

It would be intresting to find out if anyone else has tried it to see if it actually does make a difference to MPG + responsiveness.

Hiya,

Recently the Shell in Burton on Trent has been refurbed and they now have V-Power, think it was around 96p/litre. I have a Celica GT4 and since owning it have always used Total Excellium or BP Ultimate (both 97RON). I decided to give the V-Power a go as it is claimed to be 98RON so thought it would be better. Since putting it in the exhaust now pops a lot more which is OK, but it also seems to ***** occasionally mid-acceleration, I am assuming it's the fuel, but will find out when I go back to Total or BP.

What is also a coincidence is my mates Turbos on his Supra just died and he said it was shortly after putting V-Power in! I thought higher RON fuel was better for these sorts of cars especially when mine is an import which I would have thought was running on 99+ in Japan?

This aside it has made no difference to my MPG/Performance and is only 3p/litre cheaper.
