is it just me, or the yaris headlights are a littleeeee poor?? :P yesterday i drove it in the highway, and as I don't use to take it to there very often (we have the avensis, faster, steadier and more comfort too :P ) I got: "woooww it's kinda like Hiace..." (wich means, that if some hot chick stands naked in the middle of the road, you only see her almost the time you run over her  )

don't anyone knows about any site with illumination/range ratings??

cumps everyone!

I find them fine, but I don't drive on unlit roads a huge lot, some people have upgraded them here and prefer them with the upgrades...can't remember everyone that does it but I know some have.

I bought and fitted the Halfords 50% lighter bulbs, these really did make a difference. you have to have your light pointed down most of the time though, as I got flashed alot because they are a little too bright for town.

When I got mine (the original headlights) the lights were a bit s**t but like Lenry said get yourself down Halfrauds... :) you should notice the improvement :)

Those philips blue "something" ones are pretty nice, a friend of mine has those in his Fiesta, cool blue look with the minimum (i don't know how you say it... the smallest lights :P) also seems like xenon bulbs. But probably Bosch ones, i had those in my Golf GTD II, although being very expansive they were really excellent! :)

Now all you have to do is fit them without taking too much skin off your fingers ;)

See i found them really easy to fit  Took me literally 5mins? That's including dropping the rubber cover to the bulbs down to the plastic trays below and having to punch it out! You guys must have huge fingers :P

first time you fit them they are hard, with changing cars and having a replacement i've changed bulbs back and forth about 8 times, so you get used to it and it just get easier everytime you do it.

Although the standard bulbs are osram they seem pretty poor

Yes, the Yaris headlights are sh!te. I've tried replacing them with Osram Silverstar and Philips VisionPlus, both +50% brighter. Both of these were rated equal 1st place in a recent test, think it was Whatcar?

Got the Osrams in at the moment, one of the Philips bulbs blew after about 20hours use. They have made an improvement, but they're still rubbish for driving round country A roads, which I do 80miles on each day.

Anyway, get 'em changed. I had to take the Battery out of my D4D, did the other side no problem.

I'll be taking mine in for it's overdue 20k service to my mates non-dealership garage next weekend, so I'll get the alignment sorted. The lights have never seemed to shine anywhere near far enough down the road for my liking.

Cheers,

Chris

I got some philips night time blue vision bulbs and sidelights and they've worked a treat, i can really tell the difference. Really hard to install and i did think at one point "this aint worth it" but when night time came i began to smile again! I wouldn't bother with the sidelights though because i bought some but also got a free pair.
