Dear All, what are the "O/D" , "PWR" and the button left/below the wheel right next to light regulation, for? And when do use them? Land Cruiser 2001

Posted

O/D is the overdrive, leave it on unless towing up hill or in slow traffic in town, PWR is like a sports mode it keeps it in gear for longer giving higher rev's.

The other one could be a fog light, but not sure.

but what is the idea of the overdrive button?

Posted

overdrive is like having a 6th gear on a manual gearbox so to speak . higher speeds at lower revs , fuel saving gear really.

With overdrive on the car will use all 4 gears, with it off it'll only go upto 3rd.

If in doubt read your manual, it will explain everything in there.

Dont shut the overdrive off while towing you can burn up the transmission.
