Fuel Filler - T3-x Diesel

Anyone else find the fuel filler neck on the current Avensis diesels awkward? I find I need to turn the filler handle upside down to get it in properly. When I did that today, it didn't cut out resulting in a load of diesel spraying back out when the tank was full.

'Tis a small whinge, but this is the most annoyingly flawed part of the car that I have found so far.

Nope can't say I have had that problem in 18 months of ownership. Occasionally I get a bit of blowback, but that seems to be more to do with the pressure of the fuel coming through the nozzle, rather than the filler neck, cos it only happens at a certain garage.

Does it happen every time for you?

I think it depends on the garage you use. Tesco pumps are a pain, Morrisons are OK.

The good thing is that you don't need to fill up very often with a diesel! :D

Thanks for the replies chaps, and apologies for the seriously dealyed reply!

After a few more fill-ups, I have found that some pumps are worse than others, the splashback hasn't happened since. The nozzle is always a very tight fit though, and needs a bit of a shove to go even partway in. Still, I'm used to it now....
