Hows it going,

Ive found the same thing with my late '05 model CTS. Brakes arent the george best even after mild driving. Im sure the proper tuners like Envy and Fensport can sort you out with a set of top end anchors, id have gone straight there except that i live in Belfast and its not exactly across the road :D

Let me know how you get on, best of luck.

Gonna buy some ferodo ds2500s pads, race brake fluid and maybe Brembo grooved discs see if it makes a difference. What colour is yours mate theres not many over in N.I. I see a standard grey one in mallusk now and again and a silver one in ballyclare direction.

Hi, I’ve recently changed my brakes to Black Diamond Performance Combi disks and also got there performance pads as well.

And they are fantastic!!! No fading at all after hard braking, and you only need to lightly caress your brake pedal to stop. l had a shock when l had to slam on the brakes doing about 60mph, after l finished picking my teeth out of the steering wheel l realized how good the brakes were !

i have the same setup as nightrax. Haven't had any problems at all.

don't think ferodo make ds's for corollas, if they did i'd have bought them!

GRD008, l think l payed about £225 for two front disks and the pads as well. Cant rember where l ordered them from at the mo, but most places will be competitive for price.

It might be worth having a look at - http://www.blackdiamondperformance.com/

It should give you a bit more info on the brakes and pads. l have the combi disks, but l know there are two other flavors of disks.

And they are easy to fit yourself as well - http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56738

Fantastic guide, had no problems from start to finish !!!

Must be you mate, u work around the corner from smurfit?? thats what takes me to that end of the country the odd time with work but always in the boss' navy volvo v70 family bus. Thank god for T Sports. Whats the black diamonds like for disc wear? and would u guys consider doin both front and back as i heard that because my car is alot lower it relies on the rear braking more??

Volvo <shudder> the antithesis of sports car design!

Yeah im just further in that business park, watch out for the guy (no, better not name and shame him :censor: ) around the corner from smurfit, he hammered all those "5mph!" signs in around the place himself!! Talk about having too much time on your hands!

Did your insurance company look unfavourably on the new brakes? I know it makes sense to have better anchors but some companies just see "modification" and then aim for the wallet. Did it make much difference to your premiums??

Im 26 with 6yrs ncb and clean license now, dont ask lol, im with adrian flux who covered 17inch wheels, coilovers and cold air intake, they cover all mods apart from roll cages which i dont think i'll worry too much about lol. Im only interested in performance mods atm.

insurance companies will not cover anything that wears out, such as tyres brakes, Wiper Blades etc therefore doesn't apply.

Provided the parts you fit meet or exceed OE spec, no problems with insurance. If you put a big brake kit on it, then i'm sure some compnaies would bend you over a barrel for modifying away from OE.

I think you guys can run any performance brake pad for the 7th gen celica 190 aswell if that opens up more options for you, brake setup is the same i beleive, but you cant use the discs as there 5 stud pattern not 4.

Ive been keeping an eye out for it but no sign of it yet. What age was the guy u sold it to??

He bought it just before his 21st birthday! I think he had it on the road for a few days, but then spoke about waiting a while for some reason!? He was getting loads of attention anyway...

I find the EBC redstuff pads and discs work great with no fade only had them on so far for 2500 miles so far though but a good upgrade you can get them cheapish on the net somewhere like Brakes4u
