i keep loosing the **** end ...........

You don't wanna do that!!

I don't know the settings, are there no numbers or figures representing each colour or a minimun setting as this would be the softest?

:D It looked a bit more impressive when I didn't know there was a 60? pixel maximum height!!. She says at least it doesn't look too big!!

I presume it has numbers 1-4 on the front does it? With a number representing a colour? 1 being the softest setting etc. I dunno who else has these, somebody must have. Are there colours on the back too?

1=white 2=yellow 3=green 4=red the rears dont have colours but they may be numberd

So 1 would be the softest setting then and 4 the hardest. I can only guess that yours are setup to be different at the front and back as the celica being ff tends to understeer ( although with real good tyres this is dramatically improved!) rather than oversteer. I suppose if they were set to 1 at the front and 4 at the back then this would cause the problem.

Somebody who has these and has set them up correctly is bound to be alone sometime soonish!

Try backing the rears off. Should be anti clockwise on the adjusters. Hopefully they should have a detent to stop them going back to hardest from the softest setting. If you get my drift (No pun intended) If the suspension is too firm on the back it will skip out on bumpy corners. As you`ve found out. Then just wind them up until it feels right.

The fronts need to be firmer to control the understeer.

It Looks like you have trd rear shocks, are they green? they look similar to the ones I have, cant mind if there 5 or 8 way adjustable.. Those fronts sound like kyb adjustables.

underwhat circumstances are you losing the front end? is it when your putting the power down on corner exit, or upon corner entry, this may help us define where the problem is.

it was the rear that came out beside me coming off the round about i dont mind this behaviour in a 200sx cause you can bring it back fairley easy but this was like catching sharks with a crab line if you get my drift (love the pun) :yahoo:

anyway i was actually after finding out how to adjust the front ones as there is only a bolt with numbers on it and no marker to indicate were the number you choose to set to should go

hmm you maybe just need to get a more even balance then, making the front full hard and the back fully soft would make it most neutral, If there are KYB's, which the look like but i'm not sure!! then you just stick a screwdriver in the slot in the very top in the middle of all those numbers and turn...

My ss-3 has a nice oversteer bias, which is great as I just point the nose out of the corner, and feed the throttle in, the diff does its work and the nose just pulls itself out of the corner. Does sound like yours is not right though as I have only ever had the backend step out without my inducing it, once in the wet, and even then it was so simple to correct, it happened mostly because i'm running 225 wide yokohama AO22's up front and 205 wide budget rubbish at the rear :D good luck

Going by those pictures those are normal macpherson struts up front, not superstrut, so it looks like you have an SS-2 as the chassis code suggests, at least you wont have the joy of replacing all the links when they wear out.
