some ss3's had the beams engine fitted, but if yours is the 3sge the differences are as follows.

1. rear or roof spoiler as standard.

2.15 inch alloys as standard.

3.limited slip differential.

4.bigger turning radius. 5.5 as opposed to 5.2

5.slightly bigger power density. 6.67 as opposed to 6.61

6.the ss3 is slighty heavier than the ss2.

ss3 is also defined by the frame number of E-ST202-BLMZF

the ss2 was E-ST202-BLMVF

I think the biggest difference between an ss-2 and ss-3 is that whilst on an ss-2 superstrut suspension is optional, it is standard on an ss-3

i have got superstrut suspension so do you think theres a chance it could be an ss-3 as thats what it comes up with at dvla but as mentioned earlier my number is E-ST202-BLMVF which acording to this site is an ss-2

I dont know tbh, are you sure you have superstrut suspension? would need to look at the front hub or shock to be sure.

All japanese import celica's have wider arches as far as i know, the first shot you have there is of the rear shock absorber, and the second shot is the top of the front shock absorber, what we need to see to determine if you have superstrut is where the front shock absorber joins the hub, as its very different to normal uk gt's.

Ive been out and checked more closely there all set to four the front ones do have a slot in the middle the rears just seem to have that dial with numbers both rears have four to the bottom but there not green there all black and have "super special"writen on the dial,

I also added a photo of the front shock were it bolts to the hub...

ill soften the rears should sort me problem out

still no closer to knowing if mines a ss3 or 2
