Faulty Temperature Gauge

Hi,

I've noticed that my temperature gauge is working intermittently!! Do you guys think the fault could be with the sensor or instrument panel dial ?? Any help appreciated. Thnx

Probably the dial.

Try tapping the dash panel when the needle sticks and see if it moves.

This has happened to me a few times. It seems to be outside temperature related.

It's a common problem on the Mark1 Avensis's. I had my temperature needle 'adjusted' slightly when it was under warranty as the problem is it tends to 'stick' at the bottom position. They moved it up slightly so it rests slightly higher when off, but no more intermittent problems.
