Bilstein On Stock Springs

Hello all, I read lotta post with lowered springs and shocks mods... but none on perfo shocks on std springs?

As I dont really want to lower the car, but just to improve the damping and overall guidance of the car, I was wondering if changing only the std shocks for say Bilstein would improve things or not!

I don't see my TS as a sport car, I have a track day 240Z for that and even with 20 000£ spent on the TS it wouldn't come close to the Z. I see it as a nice all around car with a huge bonus above 6000 rpm. Still I don't think the std suspension is good enough even for a medium road car.

Am I clear

PS I am really turned off by the wheels, it would be nice to sort all cars with the same pattern. As an exemple I know new mini's are 4x100 but would they fit on the corolla as far as thred lengh or back-spacing? I like spoke wheels

Thing is springs do hell of a lot of the work for handling.

I noticed this when i changed from crappy jamex to tein springs both of which i had on koni struts

I understand, still I am not so sure the springs are the culprit there!

I don't know the Rolla well enough, but I have 15 years of 240Z background now, and I used lots of springs and struts, even custom-made LEDA coilover but the only thing that really stoped the 240Z from rolling on it's tires were the heavy duty Ft and Rr anti-sway bars, not the heavy duty springs! Any room for improvment there?

I also had a 280ZX at a time, the handling was so-so until I used 2 cm spacers at all corners... 35 000 km later I had nothing but real pleasure and no drama story with worn bearings... so ther again, 205 tires aren't maybe madatory just good 195 with maybe 1,5 cm spacers ????
