Tyre Wear On 06 Rav4

Has anyone noticed excessive front tyre wear on the 06 RAV4?

I have the 136bhp diesel and have done just 7,000 miles and I was surprised to find the front tyres are well over half worn - I doubt they are going to last much beyond 10,000 miles which is pretty poor really. The back tyres seem fine. The tyres are YOKOHAMA Geolander.

My 04 RAV4 lasted until about 20,000 miles and all 4 wore out at about the same time. I wonder if this is down to the semi-permanent 4WD of the new RAV4 versus the permanent 4WD of the old model?

I had a demonstrator with 4000 miles on the clock. It had Yokohama's on it and there was noticeable wear although I didn't measure them. Again the rears were pretty much unworn.

I now have a new RAV and it has come with Bridgestones on it. Now I know from my days in the motor industry that manufacturers dual source but they may have changes because of a problem.

You could do with knowing if there are any club members that have a late model with Bridgestones that have some decent mileage on them. Mine has only done 600. I will however keep you updated when I have done enough mileage to quantify the wear.

In the meantime can any body else help?
