What Brakes?

Hey all.

What brakes do people run on theie st205's

I need new fronts and am having a bit of a dilemma.

Do I go for EBC, Tarox, Mintex or maybe just standard.

I quite like the idea of Tarox G88's (if anyones seen them), but then do I get Tarox pads or EBC red stuff.

Could people give me a little feedback, cos Its an expensive mistake to make.

Thanks In advance

I asked this on GT4OC a while back, seems if you want better brakes, then TRD Front Discs and pads are as good as any, as for rears, Standard Toyota should be ok due to the brake biase being towards the front...

HTH

TBH the stardard setup really is pretty good, at time of making the 205 was one of the quickest slowing cars around. Unless you have a reason for upgrading lke thinking of doing track days etc then I'd stick with the stock pads and discs.

If you do feel the need to upgrade there quite a few options.

TRD grooved discs (Actually just stock discs but with grooves machined in  ) with TRD fast road pads.

EBC turbo groove discs with red stuff pad. I've always like EBC stuff but yet to try them on a four have a word with Adam his recent fitted these to his.

DO NOT use green stuff pads, although they are made for the four the green stuff pads are not recommed for larger cars their designed and ment for small cars and hot hatches etc. I seen a saph cossie set some alight round castle combe

The Mintex racing pads seem to get good reviews on the OC, following bedding in guidlines is a must though.

All in all you take your choice and pay your money. Personally i'd go for Stock unless your going to do track time or planning heavy mods.
