Remote Central Locking Just Packed In!

Great I must have accidentally pressed the self destruct button on my car...remote central locking stopped working today. Fob light still comes on when button is pressed but nothing happens. Tried it sitting inside the car, but still nowt.

All the doors and the boot were properly closed. Anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

I'm thinking either...

1. Last tiny bit of juice in the fob Battery (although the Battery is only about two months old)

2. Blown fuse maybe.

3. Faulty remote central locking / alarm unit on the car (god I hope it's not this one...)

Any other thoughts???

Thanks - Sid

Thought someone might be interested in this, but I think I found out the cause of the problem. As soon as I left my girlfriends house it started working again and was fine all day. When I went back to here house and parked in the same spot outside it stopped working again....

Only the day before I'd installed her a Wireless Router for her Internet connection.

I think that the only thing that could be causing it is interference from the Wireless equipment. Haven't had chance to fully prove this yet, but hopefully will soon.

So there's one to watch out for! By the way it's a NetGear DG834Gv3 Wireless Router in case anyone's interested.

Regards - Sid

Inform your local Toyota dealer about it. Mr T are enquiring into why this fault happens wi remote fobs in certain locations.
