Reversing Lights

Reversing light dont work, checked and replaced bulb still no joy, checked fuses all okay,is it possible that the switch is buggered if so where is it and is it easy to replace

Hi Carday

Quite possible that the switch is inoperative. It lives in the top of the gearbox covered by a load of pipes and the like. Perhaps the quickest way would be to remove the air filter housing to gain access to the switch. Disconnect the multiblock connector and short the two wires together, turn on the ignition and the lights should come on. If they do work then that's checked the whole of the cicuit and proved that the switch is faulty. I think it's a 24mm deep socket to remove.

Yeah thanx for that Ray, seems like its gonna be a job for Mr T. As an afterthought the car is fitted with parking sensors is there an inline fuse that may have blown
