Creaking Clutch

when pressing the clutch pedal on my 03 avensis (new shape), it now creaks. Now not sure if this the clutch cable going (if indeed it has one or are they hyrdolic??).

Concerned its going to give out at an in-oppurtune moment. Does anyone have any ideas what the cause of this creak might be. hopping its nothing more than a little bit of oil needs applying

The usual problem is the release fork pivot inside the clutch housing. The system is hydraulic, but the noise is still transmitted inside the car. The official way is to remove the gearbox and then the fork and lubricate the pivot. Takes about 3 hours for a petrol engine and 4.5 hours for a diesel. Alternatively you can peel back the boot around the clutch fork and spray in some grease until it goes quiet.

Funny enough the clutch cable in my car (03 D4D) has startrd sqeaking over the last couple of days.

I to thought Clutch cable was on it's way out.
