Hi All,

This site/forum is excellent and just wanted to intrduce myself.

Have owned several Toyotas in the past but will be pciking my new toy up this weekend.

Gen 4 Celica GT 2.0 Auto (1989).

Friend of mine is handing it over after several years of ownership and boy I can't wait.

Q; Just started the car after being parked up for over a year and noticed an issue, the revs do not drop gradually after warm up to idle, remains around 2000 rpm? Is this a sensor related problem of does ECUY need relearning? He can gurantee that this has never occured before.

Any ideas.

Watcha chap. Welcome to TOC and the wonderful???? world of Celica ownership. :D

In answer to your question, It could be water temp sensor related. If the cars been stood for a while it might be worth taking all the connections in the engine bay apart and give them a clean up with a small brass wire brush and a bit of WD40 if they look a bit crabby. An ECU reset would be a last resort before condemning any particular part to the bin.

Just an afterthought, You have checked there`s water in it??? :D

Welcome to the club!

If Zilli can't sort you out with the mirror, give TCB a yell, see if they can help - http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/

These were my first point of contact, unfortunantley they cant help.

Ive sourced a drivers side headlight motor from eBay, just need the following to get the car ready

1. Drivers side-view mirror(glass)

2. drivers side internal door handle, current one missing.

3. Airflow pipe (sits between air filter box and throttle body (currently split and patched with duck tape LOL)

4. Facepalte blanker to acompany radio unit.

Finally a resolution as to why my revs dont drop to idle after start (stuck at 2000+ revs)

TIA
