Notchy Gearbox After Oil Change

My 2002 Avensis had its 40,000 mile service 2 weeks ago, and also had the gearbox oil changed. However, since the oil was replaced, the gearbox which was previously silky smooth, has become very notchy (particularly when trying to select 1st or 2nd).

Any ideas why?

(Having had the car from 12,000 miles, I'm pretty sure that the gearbox has never been this obstructive even with 'newish' oil).

the only thing I can think of is the gearbox has been refilled with the wrong oil. It should have 75/90 gear oil. Regards Ray

It will be down to the quality of oil. When I replaced the clutch on mine a while back I noticed this, then when the flywheel failed a month later, better oil was used & it's been great since & that was about 25K ago :)
