Service Costs And Details

Finally booked for my Gen 6 GT to visit the garage, got a long list of work that needs doing but only so much cash, so this visit will be for a service.

Basically, I've always serviced my cars myself (oil, filter, pads, etc) so not sure as to what is involved with a 'full service' at a garage. Not taking it to a main dealer, because I've got no service history with the car so not to fussed about starting any now.

It definately needs an oil and filter change, air filter is an aftermarket kit (piper cross), obviously there not going to change that so do they just clean the filter? or something similar. And I'm pretty sure there needs to be some new pads for the front as they were gettin thin last time I checked.

I've had the car 3 or 4 months now, not sure when it's last service is so wouldn't be suprised if the garage ring me up and tell me a huge list of things that need doing.

But on average, what does a full service intail for you guys? and roughly what is the end cost?

if i serviced my own celica it would be the oil and filter only if i knew the pads were ok

costs maybe oil - 15 quid , filter 6 quid .

pads i'd do myself can be bought for 40 quid for all 4 wheels .can get cheaper pads though

gearbox oil change maybe 10 quid

grease door hinges ,latches and engine cables is the cost of the grease 5 quid say .
