Some Really Silly Questions! Rear Door, And Keyless Entry

As previously posted, I'm currently looking to buy a T180, however, I have a very slight concern about the side opening read door. Do people ever have problems openning the rear door, especially when someone has parked behind you. We have a young baby, and would need to get a pram in and out of the back.

Also, the keyless entry thingy. How does it work? For instance, at work, I can be sitting next to my car on the other side of the window. Does that mean my car is unlocked all the time? How far away do I need to be for the doors to lock?

Hi there, I own a T180 and have 2 small children (one still using a buggy). We have not experienced any problems but if someone was to go right up your backside when parking then you would have a problem but if there is an average space you could open the door partially and get a buggy or pram in.

When parking in car parks we always drive in forwards in order to avoid this problem.

For the keyless entry, you need to be right next to the car in order for it to work so you wouldn't have a problem there.

I hope this helps.

Also with the keyless entry, its is only ENTRY not exit. You still have to manually lock the car by pressing the lock button on the keyfob when you leave it.

Thanks for the replies :)

With the keyless entry...

I park my car and press the button to lock it. Because the car park is at the back of the building, I then have to walk around the building to enter it, via the front. I then sit down at my desk, literally 2 ft from the bonnet of my car. Will the car think I'm coming back to it to get back in, and unlock itself? I suppose I should have tested all this when I test drove, but the salesman brought the car round the front of the dealership, and the engine was running when I got in. I know it's probably me being silly here, but would be good to know. I could, of course, choose a different parking space, further down.

I have a new RAV4 XT5

Keyless Entry - It is brilliant, especially when your carrying a young child. You lock the car by pressing a button on either of the front doors or boot. The door will only unlock when you put the your hands over the handle as there are little sensors in the handle. If the car does open and you fail to open the door it automatically locks again.

I was dreading the rear door when I ordered vehicle. Although it can be a little tricky when cars park behind you, it is not as bad as I thought and I manage to get the pram in and out with no problem.

The door only unlocks when you put your hand over the door handle and they keys are within a specific radius from the driver or passenger door handles.

also you can lock the doors by pushing a small button on either front doors or backdoor (i have a T180)

so leaving the car press button on door handle will lock car to check car locked you can pull on the rear passanger door handle as it does not have a sensor fitted hope this helps
