Electric Windows And Certral Locking Not Working :s ?

Hi i have a AE92 Corolla Gti 1989 model, when i bought the car the electric windows were not working (But the central locking was) so i tryed to fix them. But touched the + and - cables togther (yeah i know iam silly :wacko: ) and blow something and now there is no power going through those wires (and now the central locking dont work) , i checked all the fuses and they were all ok. please HELP! :help:

(Ps. all the other electrics in the car are still working E.g. the eletric side mirrors and sun roof ect)

You sure all fuses are OK?? Have you checked the 30Amp POWER fuse in instrument panel fuse box? It is larger than std ones.

If OK & both windows/Door locking not working, you have blown your fusible link which is 100Amp "ALT" in fuse box inside engine bay. This should not blow before the one mentioned above. So wouls assume it is the 30 Amp which has blown

Let me know how you get on. BTW the fusible link is usually secure underneath. If this is blown the car usually won't start & will lose head/Tail lamps.

Hi mate, It could be that you burnt out the wires. Happen to one of my head lamps before, take to an electrician and ask them to check your wirings?
