Hi everyone I'm new here :)

I have recently got myself a Hilux D4D, 2.5, 05 plate, japanese (sp) import. It has a canopy on the back.

I love it to bits, nice to drive and brill for the dogs but having a major prob,

Twice in the wet I have came around an island and lost the backend  first time doing 20mph and second 30 mph ish.

Please please any suggestions for this lady Hlux novice and her scared dogs

could this be tyre pressure?

Yes it could be the pressures, but what you have to remember is that it's not a sports car and they are built to carry weight in the back, so with just the dogs in there it will be a bit light on the rear.

Let us know what tyres you have and what pressure your putting in them, as sometimes the Japanese tyres can be too hard for our conditions.

it's more than likely to be the tires - as this happened to me a year or so ago. i bought 4 new wide tires and rims one night i was going down a county lande a the hilux kept going as i hit the breaks my solution was to drive steady since then they have worn in well and had no probs. wide tires vastly helped my hi-lux and increased it's stability

don't buy new tyres let yours wear in and then see what happens - the art of it is drive carefully
