Slippery Leather Seats

Just bought a used D4D CDX .I like it but it has very slippery leather upholstery .I suspect the dealer sprayed the whole interior with that crap stuff that makes every surface look shiny .

Now I need to get the leather to a matte kind of finish .Any suggestions on a particular product to use ?

Most of the leather cleaners I look at say something like "buff to a shiny finish".

Has anyone tried Sonus Leather Conditioner ?

Thanks in advance as I gradually slide under the steering column !

I know the feeling, our Avensis had a plastic boot liner and the dealer cleaned it with the same crap. We couldn't understand how the floor in the house was becoming so slippery but finally narrowed it down the the bootliner contaminating all luggage which then cam into the house. I think 1 drop of the stuff will generally shine 35 cars. We tried washing it off with soap and detergent but that did nothing. Then I covered it in talcum powder which sort of got rid of a bit but in the end it was removed with swarfega hand cleanser. Fortunately for me though it was not used to clean the leather.

Not really much help to you I know but hopefully a dealer may read these threads and never use the stuff again.

Have a look on the website below. They stock Einzett products and I've found their glass polish and dashboard cleaner superb, the latter cutting back to an original finish. They also do a leather care product in the range which might be worth a try.

Thanks for that info everyone .

I think I'll go with the Sonus conditioner but the leather has to be cleaned first to get the shiny crap off it .

The interior of this car is one big blingy shine .

I have use an anti static foam cleaner called AMBERCLENS on the dash and other plastic interior parts does not leave a shine and helps keep dust from settling. Not tired this on leather but if you do see this product have a look to see will it help to get rid of that shine
