Is it worht buying used celica imported from japan? what are the advantages and disadvantages of buying an import. Why is the insurance higher for jap imported cars?

I have an import and its now almost 12 years old but you would never guess it is - the cars imaculate , i personally like imports as they are mostly in better condition . Some insurance companys may charge more for an import thou - no idea why , same car ! I would advise anyone to buy an import but at the end of the day its your choice mate :)

Mine is a 16yo Imported GTR, and as crismillencolin says, if it wasn't for the model and number plate, you wouldn't think it was.

My previous car was a BMW 318i, and it cost me another £25 to move the insurance to a 2.0 imported Celica, That was with Chaucer Insurance via the AA

insurance companies charge more because in the event of having an accident , parts have to be shipped from japan to the uk . which as most of us know who own imports is total bollax . its just a rip off

norwich union , churchills are good on imports now . try those

as for imports being in better nick i have had 2 imports now and both have been brand new still . my hilux surf on a 1995 plate came to the uk this year with 9.5 k on the clock . marvellous
