Picked Up My New Wheels Yesterday

Well, finally traded in my Yaris 1.0 T3 (which was a good car) for a Corolla T Sport - must confess I had a huge cheesy grin on my face as I drove away from the dealership.

Its black, registered March 2005 with just under 18k miles on the clock, and the folks at Toyota put it through the 20k service and fired new Michelin rubber on all four corners before I collected it.

Was immaculately presented and all this for a tiny smidge over £10k.....a bargain I thought considering the performance on offer. (Shall try and get piccies arranged at some point hopefully!).

:D :D :D

PS: Of course my mate had to upstage me at this point by coming round with his newly remapped Leon Cupra R done by Star Performance - 277bhp......ouchie! tis a bit of a beast!

:D

Gratz and welcome to the CTS fold. I've only had mine since September but I'm loving every minute so far.

Do you have any modding plans so far or are you keeping it standard for the time being?

Deffo get some pics up so we can all see your pride and joy (reminds me I need to get some of mine up - problem is that it always seems to be dark by the time I've finished cleaning so I never both taking any pictures of it) :D

Cupra's are nice ... but I'm sure you will be having plenty of fun with your CTS's lift!

Good purchase. Wouldn't mind see some pics.

Is the cupra R front wheel drive cause 277bhp on a front wheel drive it flat out insane.

This is my first performance car really so no plans for mods in the forseeable future (would not have the first clue what to mod anyway!)

Hoping to get hold of a digital camera next week for the piccies so watch this space.....

  • 2 months later...

Hi all - few months into CTS ownership now and I must confess I am enjoying it immensely thus far, however contrary to my original plan of no mods I am considering potential brakes/suspension changes.

I feel that after having now driven it quickly and for extended periods that this is where some improvements may be necessary. With this said can you nice people out there offer suggestions?

I don't want to turn it into a hideous MaxPower carbuncle or anything and want to try to keep it as true to the original as poss but feel it needs tweaked a bit. (oh and not wanting to spend loads either - modest budget/sensible stuff:)

Thanks in advance :D :D

Tein do a Coilover kit and a few peeps on here recommend it. Thats what I want to save up and get however realistically saving some money would mean i'd probably have to give up lifes little pleasures.

Beer and Lift!!!!

Anyway the Teins!!! Two versions available Super Streets and Basic. Fensport do them and i thought they were good prices on both kits check this linky

if that doesn't work go to www.fensport.co.uk. Tein have a website www.tein.co.uk the basic kit and the Super Streets pages show how much the CTS can be lowered!!

As for brakes black diamond discs which are supposed to be good are sold on the fensport site! Not sure what anyone else is using, would be nice to find out cause discs will have to be replaced sometime. So its not a bad idea to find out whats best right now!

Hope this helps!!

Good luck

Yep big thumbs up for the Teins I have them on my T Sport and it improves the handling sooooo damn much. Wouldnt bother with the super streets only difference between them and basics is the camber adjustment.

Hi guys, thanks for the suggestions so far - as far as having these items fitted, how do you go about it? Will the company you buy them from fit them as well? Or would I need to approach Mr T?

Cheers :D
