Another Question

Hi guys & gals,

I apologise but I have yet another RAV 4 question. All the different makes of cars I keep looking at I find myself still admiring and coming back to the RAV 4 so tomorrow I intend to go and look at a silver RAV as described below at my local dealers.

2003 TOYOTA RAV4 2.0 D-4D VX

Manual, Estate, Petrol, 32,095 miles, Argenta Silver, Black leather, 1998 cc, Leather Trim,Air Conditioning,Sunroof,Alloy Wheels,Electric Windows,Central Door Locking,Airbag,Alarm,Immobiliser,Power Steering,Adjustable Steering Column,CD Player,ABS,Rear Wash Wipe. £10,970.

Does it sound a reasonable deal or overpriced?

Can you clarify that the RAV 4 is permanent 4 wheel drive and not part time or selectable and it does not have low ratio gearing, also is the indicator stalk on the left or right side of the column, my last Toyota was on the right and took some getting used too and finally with it been a 4x4 does it handle snow and wet fields ok. (not swampy fields)

Sorry to be a pain just need to know before I thrash out a deal with the garage.

Ok

Sounds a good deal does it have a Full Service History... I would negotiate on the price though £9995 sounds a better deal.

Yes the Rav4 is full time FWD and no low ratio gearing.

Indicator stalk on Left with lights right hand is for wipers front and rear

Handles snow and muddy fields to an extent, remember this is a SUV and not a full on mud plugger but will get you out of most fields and the kind of snow we get...

Your enjoy it I have the same model as your interested in..Just had it's 61k service and running sweet..

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I went to have a look at the car this afternoon, not overly impressed with the presentation or the condition. The clutch pedal did not have a lot of travel in it and was as stiff as a board. I did not like the interior consisting of black leather and grey plastic, perhaps I am too fussy. There was a face lift version also there with the round fog lamps and all the interior was black which looked much better just the car was overpriced.

I also looked again at the Kia sportage, Hyundai tuscon, freelander and x trail, just do not float my boat. Oh well, better save some more money.

Looking at your list above the only one which gets very good reviews, is the Nissan X-Trail :) steer clear of the rest :thumbsup: .

The X trail is so ugly though and I am not much for the centre mounted speedo. The Shogun sport looks ok but is actually based on the L200 pick up mechanically. I went shooting yesterday to a shoot that I have not been to before and went in my van as the wife would not let me use her new car, as I approached and went down the dirt track I thought this is when I could do with a 4 x 4, when I pulled into the farm and saw where I had to get across an uneven muddy field I thought I better buy something decent before the bad weather sets in!
