Very Peed Off With My Celica

Battery keeps dying on me, its 2 years old, Thinking of getting a new one. Had the alternator re-conditioned 2 months ago. Starter motor is still sticking (might have to get a new one). its all money, money, money with her. I just want an easy life. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I still havent got a grip on what the problem really is.

If I could get a new car I probably would.

Any ideas of what it could be??????

Yeah.. If only. Seriously though. I expect that the problems with the alternator have caused excess loadings & demands on the Battery. Replacing it should sort it out. As for the starter. The easiest option would be to replace with a recon unit or if you know a friendly auto electrician have the one you`ve got cleaned and reconned. It`s not a big job for someone competent. Replacement of brushes and cleaning the commutator usually sorts them out.

Hehe.. no worries... but in all honesty.. as soon as **** starts to happen on a regular basis.. I would get shut and cut my losses.

Did that on the first one i had.. it turned out to be a dog .. so sold it and got a minter.

thats where we difer.. i have a way too much sensible head on me.. and go through cars like no ones business..

Although.. when i changed to my second Celi.. i loved it even more as it was mint! and worked every time... once my confidence goes in a car due to reliability issues then i dont like it.

Have you checked to see if the light in the boot goes out when you shut it. Used to have a car that the Battery kept going flat on after changing everything imaginable found that there was a short on the boot light so it was staying on all the time and draining the Battery when the engine was off. :ffs:

And now all is well with her... and I have heat at long last.

i think its in a gen 5s nature to p**s u off mate,you just need to give her some tlc every day.otherwise u will pay. thats how they think,well would if they were alive
