Tte Lowering Springs

I've done some searching on this topic, but would still like to hear some opinions on this.

So the TTE lowering springs are worth purchasing or not? I know they will lower 30mm, but will the springs in the long run cause any damage to the OEM dampers/shocks, perhaps make them leak or break due to thestiffness of the springs? Will the ride comfort I have now with the TS be worse and even stiffer or perhaps

bouncier, perhaps anyone with experience? The roads around here are not the best, but they are ok I guess, so I'm not even sure if its worth lowering...

On the TTE website, it mentions that the springs are developed for the original shock absorbers. Does this then mean that they will not cause any damage to them and the ride comfort will stay the same as now with the

OEM springs?

Thanks so much!

as said they are developed for the standard shocks, so don't worry about them leaking, the more you lower it the more chance there is of buggering the standard shocks up.

Depending on where you get the springs from, they may have a warranty, and being made by toyota you could claim back under warranty for any damages.

Ride should be a bit stiffer, nothing to complain about, and should be ok with the roads.

Roads where I live are terrible and i've just fitted coilovers, maybe not the best idea

If I do go ahead and get them, they will be ordered through the Toyota dealership here in Hungary where I will get my car serviced at for the 1st service in a while. They can order it for me from TTE and install them as well.

What do you feel with your coilovers on the bad roads where you live? Will you keep them or take them out?

Exactly the same where I live mate, you get used to it after a while though!! Theres nothing like being in a car that handles like a go-kart and thats the reason I wont be changing mine for a while!! I'm driving a VW Sharan company car at the mo and getting in my car after driving that is great!! Feel so low to the road and can attempt corners a lot quicker than in the Veedub!!

Coilovers are awesome, far better than you could imagine, i love mine, agreed it can be a touch harsh and bumpy but thats just on bad condition roads, but adds to the fun of driving it. Speeds bumps can be abit of an issue tho  the front gets over them fine if taken slow - its the middle of the car i have to watch out for

How low are you? Do you scrape the middle section a lot and have clearance issuses, any damage?

im on tein coilovers atm and they are all the way down. i have some issues with scubbing when going over large sharp bumps. as for speed bumps the large ones i have no problems with. its the small ones which are buggers and catch the middle of the car. as for damage ive had a good look under the car whens its been up on ramps and its all fine. heres a pic

Mines around the same as chris's i think

coileys2.jpg

Again no real problems as long as take speed bumps slow then im fine - the odd very bad road get slight scrub here and there but this is only usually if hitting a bump hard.

TTE Spring = Eibach, no ?!

is that right then ? tte springs are made by Eibach?

I've always used Eibach on my cars since buying my first set and realising that low doesn't have to mean crashy and harsh.

I also see alot of people on here use Teins , how do they compare to eibach/tte for ride quality?

I'm getting on a bit now and us old folks have to look after our spines. :D

TTE springs are indeed made by Eibach, just like the TTE exhaust is made by Remus... it's all contract work!

The TTE springs are fine, but the Tein's are a lot better. The ride is absolutley fine, iv recently fitted them to my car and noticed that the ride quality if anything, is better. There's no more 'bobbing' sensation that TTE's give and the ride is so much more controlled... great for driving. Im not going to say the ride is good though, leave that to the high-tyre-walled squish-machines. The ride is bumpy, it is unsettled on jagged roads, but when you're going for it, they aren't even noticable... this little car hops over them and just stays planted... great fun!

Teins are amazing, so much less body roll! Not as bouncy as over cars that i have been in with lowering springs on.

The teins also level car out with 33mm drop at front and 38 mm drop at back, mine has teins check my registry for pic!

I find that mines scrapes speed bumps with just the tein lowering springs, especially if I have more than just myself in the car...
