hi can an external waste gate go on my ct26 turbo?? does it go on the side of were the is a dimond shaped block??????

you could fit an external waste gate but it would be a lot of hassle for no extra gain. untill you get over 400bhp there is no point. there was a downpipe somewhere where the std internal gate opened into a separate pipe instead of going into the downpipe, it went to atmosphere, no gain other than the loveley sound of a screemer pipe

As dawesy said lot of work for no outcome.

Would require you to fit an adapter plate between exhaust mainfold and turbo to fit wastegate too, which in turn would lower turbo down meaning you'd have to fit a custom made downpipe and the turbo support bracket would no longer fit, also probably cause issues with oil and coolant line fittings. You'd also need to weld up the internal wastegate.

All in all would probably cost almost as much as an uprated turbo kit, just without any increase in power.
