Driving A 4 For The First Time

Hi all

I've been looking for a 4 for a while now and yet to find the perfect one.

Yesterday I drove one for the first time from an import dealer in south london.

It was a N reg fresh off the boat. Condition was average and had 79K miles on it.(In kiloms that is)

It was black and not the best I've seen but I had to show interest in order to test drive it.

After finally jusp starting it we let it warmed up.There was still 1/8th of high octane petral in it from japan! I also noiced a few things I never noticed. eg. The boot is soo uneven with the spare wheel and underneith the fuel tank was MASSIVE!

The cockpit felt nice. Feels just like my ST202.

Now for the drive....

At first I kept it under 3KRPM and I could feel how punchy it was already. I normally drive under 3K to save petral.

After a few minutes I tried taking off and then SWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! THE TURBO SUCKED LIKE HELL AND PINNED ME TO THE SEATS LIKE I WAS BEING SAT ON BY A SUMO WRESTLER!!!!!

In 3rd gear at 6Krpm my right leg was shakin with excitement. I didn't get to go up to 5th becasue of the windy roads and traffic but even still the handling was nothing nothing I've driven before.

When cornering in 3rd the car just kept on pulling into the bends and even when the tyres screached and I pushed it so hard in the large roundabouts the car just kept pullin in LIKE A RANTIC BEAST WITH CLAWS RIPPING THE ROAD AND PULLIN GIT IN!!!! THE CAR REFUSED TO SLIDE OUT!!!!!!

By the time I got back to the dealer my friiend in the back had a white face and we both was speechless.

I tried to play it cool and pretended I may part exchange but my knees where wobbling like a crack head needing a shot.

I had a dream last night and my girlfriend said I was smilling whilst sleeping.

... I know my mind is made up and my search continues.

That was actually pretty funny!!!!

The chances of a thread like this after that!

I think its also to do with the fact he has NEVER driven a fast car before obviously!!

Reminds me the first time i drove a MR2 Turbo... the smile and the rush of adrenaline is amazing... Shame its like a drug though as you will need to increase the boost levels to get the same 'rush'

When i got in the ST205, it felt slow... as Red said.. it all depends on your past experiance but no one can take that memory of putting your foot down for the first time in a Turbo car... :)

Good luck with the hunt lad. :)

p.s) with a name like that.. i really do hope your a China Man.. :P

Welcome to the fold mate, keep your eyes pield their are good ones out there you've just gotta find them.

Get yourself over to the GT4OC there's a few good looking 205's going on there at the moment.

That first drive is always the sweetest. You think you're like a dope head now just wait till you've put down a deposit for one and are waiting to pick it up. Worst couple of weeks of the other halfs life... :D  Don't think a single second when by that I wasn't banging on about it.

I've driven a civic type R and DC5 Type R and believe me that was fun! But yes I was a turbo virgin untill Wednesday.

I've joined about 2 months ago to do some research. Recently it's a bit quiet in the Cars for sale section. I don't wan't a black one and I'm a bit picky too. But I'm not in a hurry. I know about the tell tails signs to look out for.

Today I feel a bit normal but I still think about that drive I had. In fact I couldn't help telling most of my work mates. I've been trying to hold it in but I couldn't help it.

SWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo:

Oh yes and also I as yellow as Bruce him self.
