Brake Pads Worn Early

Some of you will remember my posting where the local main dealer reported

wear of 80% front and 70% rear and requesting 165 quid to replace...

Anyway, thanks to the logical replies, especially Anchorman, I was able to reply

to a "satisfaction questionare" with some degree of "techno speak"

In a nutshell - I received a phone call for me to present the car for a diagnosis.

They agreed the rear pads were more than 50% OK and didnt need replacing..

They also offered to replace the front ones - material only. What a saving - and

all down to Forum members.

Thanks to all once again.

Peter

Oh right

But if you think that is bad ...

...I had a set of front brake pads wear down in 6000 mile on my MGB GT (Yes only 6,000)! :ffs:

... and it was not as if the car was being driven hard!!! :crybaby:

They were genuine Leyland/UNIPART pads as well! So next time I fitted Mintex and a good long life they last.

I had some Ferodo DS2500 pads wear down in about 4,000 miles of driving. They did get worked quite hard but no track days. At £120 for a pair it becomes quite expensive. Worth it though. :)
