Help!

Hi all,

Finally got most of the bits and bons to complete the GT Gen 4 for an MOT this weekend.

I had an initial problem when I first took ownership.

BEFORE:

With a cracked air hose the engine would not settle to an idle base, continously run high after startup to 2K rpm.

NOW:

Replaced the air hose with perfectly fine one, but after startup when the engine temp reaches optimal state it dips and rises back to 2k continously????? And this happens in very short quick bursts.

Im stumped, cleared out the throttle body and the MAF unit, checked for any vacume leaks....

The car has been stood almost stationary for over 2 yeras....

I had a problem like that a while ago... It turned out to be the air filter... I put a cone on there and gave her some jip for a bit and problem solved... Might be worth a shot... Other than that I wouls say you must have a vac leak somewhere but probably only a pin pric...

Do you know the name of the cone , so far I've only seem OEM replacement filters.
