Shell Diesel Extra

Anyone been using Shell Diesel Extra in their RAVs? Any noticeable difference?

I *think* I am.

Shell is my regular 'petrol' station, and I believe I'm using diesel extra (is there any other grade?). However, i've only had the car 1 week now, and have nothing to comapre it to.

I try to use Shell diesel where possible - the engine seems to run nicer than other makes (ie. supermarket, bp etc). Can't really say I've noticed much of a difference in MPG though between the makes. But now I got a new turbo fitted, maybe i will get better mpg anyway!?!?

Thanks all, but note I am trying to see if there is a difference between "Shell Diesel" and "Shell Diesel EXTRA". Extra is not available everywhere currently and aparently it is the same price as normal diesel.

I will make a mental note next time i fill up with Shell as to which diesel it is as i can't recall exactly whether it is the extra or not.

Yes I have used it and it made a big difference over supermarket fuel in terms of noise, smoothness and economy. I am currently on BP Ultra and it is better still. I paid about 7p a litre more than supermarket or similarly priced Shell Extra.

Not Shell but BP version of extra - only had 1 tanks worth and didn't notice ANY difference.

I think after a few tank fulls would give a better result, but I only filled it up with the Extra by mistake. However I have noticed a huge difference between BP diesel and supermarket diesel. The car performs better, get a better MPG figure, and when I put my foot down I don't get alot of crap comming out of the back like I used to ;) !
