yipppeeee. just got my baby back from the garage and it's all smiles. Completely remapped from scratch. With the initial improvements she was putting out 136bhp at 6000rpm at the wheels, very sluggish as we have previously mentioned from 0 to 60mph. After remapping at the wheels i have 151bhp at 6000rmp and an improvement of 40lb of torque at 3000rpm. She's running like a champ now. :yahoo:

Nice one mate, so you got those gains purely from a remap? Cool B)

:) aye you can from a remap. Did my old gen 5 and got huge response after a few new bits and a remap. Bumped up bhp and everything quite nicely. Only thing is it drank fuel like olly reid did booze!!!!!!

What engine is that????? cos its either a good figure or a bad one!

3S-GE - Figures are at the wheels

It's the 3s-fe . been out all day today and i gotta say it's impressive the difference it has made. I have no idea what that means as to the bhp normally listed for cars.

3S-FE? You sure those figures are at the wheels and not the fly?

yes at the wheels as informed by the tech.

Mods. k&N cold intake feed and filter, Powerflow catback s/s exhaust, Iridium plugs, Nology hi performance ht leads, and something i got off eBay to add to lamda sensor ( supposed to change the ecu settings to register fuel poor). Thats about it i think. I dont know whether the the stats are good or not, just know that now, when i put my foot on the gas, i goes like a shower of sh**. Really pleasing.

If thats at the wheels its good , very good..too good really.

Wonder what my wee lump is putting out then .

Any printouts or proof of power we can see please :D??

Yeh i do have the printouts, it's a matter of gettin em onto the pc, will make the effort to get them scanned and posted. Whats the difference with at the wheels and at the flywheel?

Dont mean to be rude, but if you do have the 3SFE, i can't believe you have 151 at the wheels,151 at the fly seems more realistic, seeing as its rated at 135bhp (?) standard at the fly...

Printouts would be good if you can get them scanned on :)

Flywheel HP is going to be more than Wheels HP as you use some HP turning the transmission, possibly lose around 30ish on a front wheel drive? (Not 100% on the figure though)

i would expect a good 3sge to be putting 151bhp at the wheels , maybe..... as mike says 151bhp at the wheels of a 3sfe is high !

I think a FWD only lose's 15-20 , the 4wd 3sgte lose's more like 30bhp......then again i'm known for being wrong :D

Wheres Dak or Booster when we need them !!

I thought they were WHP readings for a rev3 3S-GE when i first read them too...........

If your 3S-FE is putting out 151 at the wheels and my GE (all be it a rev 2) is putting out 159 at the fly then me not a happy bunny :crybaby:

Either way, if the car drives great then the figures dont count- its the grin factor, nice one fella

PS horsepower at the wheels includes transmission loss between the flywheel and the roadwheels, i think this tends to be about 33%? Someone may put me right on that. EG if your car has 150 BHP at the wheels, its running about 200 at the flywheel. All the figures you see in books and brochures are flywheel figures (unless stated otherwise  )

The rolling road I went to calculated the transmission loss on the "run down" after the power run.

Think Dak's 185 lost about 50BHP, my 205 lost just over 60BHP... not too sure about FWD so I just halfed mine as a ballpark figure

aye, kinda sucks

Just under 200 to play with, 194 at the wheels ;)

I`m still looking for that 50 BHP.... Think i dropped it on the garage floor and it rolled under the workbench. (Got a really quick workbench now) :D .................... Must lay off the weed. :P

Question. Sounds daft. Is it definately a 3S-FE. You`d be surprised how many folk think they`ve got a different engine to what they really have.

Transmision loss for a FWD is typically 15-20% and for 4WD 20-25% :crybaby:

Friction reducing additives can help very slightly as can weight loss. Obviously a 200BHP engines transmision will require less energy to move 1 ton compared with 3 tons. Whilst it still requires a certain amount of energy to rotate the transmision mass regardless. So you can`t put an absolute figure on it. :)

Its running 325bhp at the fly and 330 torque B) might have a slight increase when its back on the road with the FMIC :D
