Rear Demister Not Working

Hi guys,

My rear demister has just stopped working. The light come on on the switch and you hear a relay click but the screen doesn't clear. Nothing at all. Its a 96 UK spec Celica. Where is the fuse for it? Is it the one labeled DEF in the panel under the steering wheel? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Iain,

Just a thought. The same happened on my Avensis. It turned out that a blade connector has actually seperated from the rear screen itself. I tried a repair using a conductive adhesive but it was unsuccessful. I'm dreading the winter months!

got it sorted today, problem was there is a small connector within the rubber boot that transfers the cable from the car body into the boot lid and that was the broken connection. Guy said it's common in a car of it's age (10years) with a hatch back. Try that if you get a problem, hope it helps someone in the future!
