Just making sure every things ok the witht he car. Its an ST185. Is the boost supposed to kick in a 3K?, it really only starts to creep up aftert that mark, and gets to about 0.6 of a br when i have been going fastish, not flat out or anywhere near...can anyone advise me if this is how it should kick in or should it be before this..

the turbo feels very progressive, not like other turbo cars i have been in which feel very harsh in the turbo uptake. Its got a 2.5 inch moongoose SS exhaust and down pipe, and k&n air filter...

Just though i havent reset the ECU since i bought it so will do that this afternoon aswell..

any ideas or suggestion please

thanks in advance

Sounds about right to me, sure Dak will confirm the standard boost level on a 185, but my 205 does come on boost from around 3k onwards ;)

Yep. Sounds about right. It shouldn`t go above .6 or .7 BAR in standard trim. As you say it`s a nice progressive uptake. Just in case you didn`t know. The standard boost gauge in the dash is a waste of space, very slow reaction time. Once you start tuning then you`ll notice the turbo characteristics start to change.

Yep, the boost on all the standard fours has a very progressive build up which is actually one of it's up sides. You less likely to suddenly come on full boost mid corner or other unsuspecting moments and throw the balance of the car out.

You'd be supprised how may cosworths have died because of the harsness of the boost buildup.
