Hi Guys

I need some advice here.

As you know I'm in the progress of upgrading my 202 SS2 to a 205 GT4.

I've been very carefull as to what to look out for in buying a used GT4 thanks to all your advice.

I've been monitoring the GT4 OC for months now and eBay too.

I'm very attached to my 202 and cant go through a day without driving it.

I saw this on eBay and offered to part exchange my car for the GT4 but he was asking too much. Not to mention there's a huge risk in not knowing the condition of the car without seeing it.

p reg fresh import

I am looking for a preowned one so that most of the problems are resolved already as advised from bootster.

But by going through this path would mean that I firsn need to sell my baby and then buy a new one and I couldn't bare the thought that my hunt could go on for months and into the new year and I wouldn't have anything to buy.

That's why I'm looking for a PX butno matter where I look in London I can not find a decent dealer that can offer me a reasonable price or a GT4 I liked.

How did you do it?

Does anyone here have any advice?

My nly requirements is that it has to be white, manual, 2 post spoiler or with blocks and in good nic.

My total budget would be around £4500 which includes the value of my car in PX.

As with mike I saved up for the four and then sold my old car afterwards.

In my experience for 4500 your going to have to be looking at a private sales to get a good condition 205.

If you can save some more money then I've heard good things about A J Sutton, they import alot of fours and normally replace the figure 8's and lower arms plus replace clutch if needed and service before they let the car go.

However you looking at more around the 5-6K mark for this service.

My new one was £4900 private from a GT4OC member P-reg UK car with 82k on the clock in dare I say it better condition than the last one plus a few nice mods. To be honest unless you lucky you're either going to have to up you budget a bit or take a risk and foot the bills if needed.

Have a look through autotrader as well as ebay/clubs.

Another route to consider is getting yourself a flexiable loan from cahoot, it basically works like a credit card but with good interest rates. You apply for a loan limit then withdrawl however much you want up to that limit, monthly repayments minimum is £50 or about 2% of the balance whichever is greater. The best bit of it is you can pay the loan off whenever you want without being charged a early repayment feel like with normal bank loans.

AJ Sutton

OMG!!! This is perfect! It's exactley what I'm looking for and even the number plate is perfect for me! CHI=CHINAMAN!!!!:drool::drool:

But that's way too much though.

But guys I see your point. I can up my budget to 5.5K max and it does mean selling my car first. I know what I must do now.
