Managment Light Problem

we bought a 2002 avensis 2.0ltr cdxi and have had

nothing but trouble with it.

first off it was rear suspention being too soft to tow our caravan.

then managment light came on 3 days after getting car it went in

was checked and supposed to be sorted,

a week later light back on, back to garage they had it a week

broke the engine cover tried to hide it by super gluing it.

back out again then light comes on yet again but this time

the brake discs start to vibrate (warped discs) as well now they have had car

going on a month discs replaced but cant get management light to stay off

i am at my wits end with it going to tell them to keep the car had enough of it now

in fairness they have not left me without a car but what they loaned me was a right heap

( n reg rover diesel ) now they have changed that for a mazda 51 plate that is not too bad

in the 8 weeks i have had the car its been in the garage or waiting to go in the garage for 6 of them.

I sympathise. I would return the car if you are able to exercise that option.

The management check light problem tends to resurface, and you could end up with many more trips to the garage.

i have that option as this is a day one fault

would just like them to sort the car out as we do like the car

but if they cannot sort it out in the next 7 days it will be going back.

Remember I advised to return the car as the engine managment problems can resurface ;)

Anyhow, I 'personally' reckon that when dealers change this and that oxygen sensor systematically to try to cure the problem - the actual problem is a weak car Battery. It's been proven that a less than optimal car Battery can trigger the warning systems (when there isn't actually a problem) something like a slight voltage drop. So it could be a case the car just needs a fresh Battery.

Battery is new fully charged as it had gone flat

while being on the sales site and i had them put a

new one in when i collected the car.

i think the only option they have is to take the

car to main dealers to get it put right, even so i will

not be keeping it as they have agreed to replace it

with another car. they are very good dealers who

i have been dealing with for many years
