I returned from Scotland to Yorkshire on Monday and obtained 50mpg.

I was on cruise control most of the way set to 70 mph. This varied slightly with overtaking and slower roads.

Not exactly a gas guzzler is it? ;-)

Was this what the Trip said or did you work it out when next filled up. Toyota Trip Computers read out by +/- 4 mpg. Mine is saying I'm getting 47mpg (run between Oxford and Chelmsford yesterday) but works out @42mpg....when I work out the mpg...

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Not done the calcs yet, my mrs filled it up last ime and never zeroed the trip meter or took the mileage. I never trust the computer knowing it is just a guide so I will varify it at some stage.

My trip meter is accurate on the diesel, however there was a slight error when I had the petrol rav 4.

I always check when I fill up, this is an accurate figure---if you have heavy shoes you won't get 50mpg. lol.

Mine is accurate too. I've only measured it once so far (only had car for 2 weeks) and the car said 34.9 and when i worked it out, it came to 34.9!! Coming to the end of my second proper tank, so will see what i get this time. The car says 33.3mpg atm, but I spent 90 mins crawling around West Midlands Safari Park in 1st and 2nd gear on this tank.

Just filled up again, and the trip meter read 33.1mpg.

Working it out manually gives me 32.7mpg.

So my trip computer is pretty accurate. :)

I live in a rural area and have never had less than 40mpg, always checked with calculator.

I realise of course that living in a congested area and perhaps driving a little more sporty will pull the mpg down--but the potential is there :thumbsup:

Thanks for response ;)

Mine's a petrol, late 05, 3 door. Best I have got is 37mpg - that was on cruise control to the Isle of Arran in the summer.

Well what a coincidence that is where I was driving from.

Going up I got just over forty, but I was driving hard to catch a ferry LOL.

The drive back down was more enjoyable and leisurly :thumbsup:
