My auto dimming rear view mirror has stopped working, and you can't manually dip the mirror

I took a quick look to see what the problem could be, and it appears the rectangular connector behind the mirror which sticks onto the windscreen has come loose and I can see a silver contact strip on the window - so the connection is breeched). The heat of the summer may have melted off the adhesive, as it only appears to be lightly bonded to the window (perhaps to facilitate a broken windscreen change), and the connector is all loose and wobbly.

So in my 5 mths of ownership have encountered (car is 2 years 4 mths old)

- electronic whistling noise at 40mph - dealer doesn't know, but doesn't think it's serious

- groaning rear hatch - haven't asked to be fixed

- steering knocking noise - fixed

- hatch rattle - fixed

- broken bonnet release - fixed

- intermittent squealing brakes - not fixed yet

- broken auto dipping mirror - not yet fixed

- rear seat release button cap has dropped off (to fold down seats) - not under warranty (told)

- slightly rusty wheel nuts - not covered under warranty (told)

Not horribly unreliable, but not impeccably reliable either - most are just niggly things.

My 53 1.8 T3-X auto is just over 3 years old and I've had it for 2 years. I think it was an ex rental car.

Problems were:

Brake squeal on stopping - shims fitted FOC under warranty (twice).

3 bits of trim replaced/fixed FOC.

4 alloy wheels and all wheel nuts replaced FOC due to minor rusting.

Squeaking hatch strut not fixed because it only happens intermittently in very hot weather.

Total loss of coolant - due to hose not fitted correctly, probably at factory.

No oil consumption and a pleasure to drive.

If I did the mileage to justify it, I'd like an Avensis diesel auto (but they don't make one)! Least reliable car I've owned: Saab 9-5 2.0T.
