Help Needed. Engine Rattle

hello all,

a friend of mine has a problem with his 1.4 corolla 2000 car. the car has done 70k miles.

the problem is when the car is cold and starting to pull off, the engine rattles/pinks and on some hills it does the same.

could there be a problem with the lamba sond or just crap petrol????

please give your views.

Hi Baz - long time no see. Let the tank get nearly empty and give it a try with 98/99 ron petrol and see if that makes a difference.
