Electrical Humming Noise

My T180 has developed a soft humming or buzzing noise which seems to come from the side of the car behind the left rear seat. It happens intermittently while driving. I also hear it from outside the car when I open or close the left rear door.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I could well be completely wrong but two electrical noises spring to mind....

1) Electric fuel pump, normal mounted under the car, or in the fuel tank.

2 ) The new RAV4 as electric power steering, but i would think it only make a noise when you turn the steering wheel :) .
