well took compressor in to mr t today because a noise developed on acelleration sounds like a heat sheild or baffles rattling but technician said its the compressor has gone i went down to have a word with tech said gonna be 2 weeks before new compressor arrives and he,s not sure how long to fit cos they not fitted one before .not totaly convinced it is compressor as compressor does,nt run when vehicle stationary and you can replicate the virating rattling just by reving throttle on and of and noise does sound through exhaust when your directly under car. :censor: by the way they did say there had been a fault on another compressor when i asked what the fault was they said it had fallen of :D

on the gear box front i mentioned notchy gears told its no different to other models of same class.also mentioned when cold crunches in third gear till its warm then ok .have any of you had this third gear crunching it did it on my t sport but i changed car before taking it in?

Are you sure its not the exhaust?

I'm not convinced that it's the supercharger, they don't have anything to rattle.

They can only whine or rumble as all the parts are cast or solid steel.

I finally got a reply to my query from TTE and they were more than helpful so it might be worth you asking them before commiting the car to the dealer.

It might just be the electromagnetic clutch on the supercharger that's faulty. I know that was the problem with the charger on my 4A-GZE.

I did think about the clutch assembly but would that give a rattling sound?

I suppose there are two weeks to listen for it before the car goes in for a new supercharger and to consider different things.

215 Compressor, did you read my ongoing saga in my thread yet?

I will have to drive the car a bit more but I can't really feel any difference.

Now I have a sensible reply from TTE I will print it off and go back to my dealer and let him read it.

The problem is that the car is such a rarity, they are unsure of how it should behave ;)

yes just found your reply on your car . dont think its the clutch on compressor can realy hear noise through exhaust and other problem is not got car anymore they dont think i should drive it in case of further damage so picking up a yaris today[ courtisy car] :yawn:no what you mean when you go to dealer with car being so rare the tech i spoke to looked a bit uncomfortable when i was questioning his diagnosis as i had more of an understanding of how it worked than he did!

I had the same problem with my compressor when i still had it and it was the exhaust downpipe had blown apart and smashed all the baffles in the pipe and blown a few hole through the cat aswell.

Ask them to take the downpipe of and have alook at it.

i had a K&N typhoon cat back custom made exhaust and only ever run on Shell v-power.

car use to pink alot and toyota remapped the ecu as i drove the car and how hard i drove it.

then had it rolling roaded at 224bhp :D

i had the crunching 3rd gear. solved it by fitting a TRD kit.

Its not so much the short shift but the gearlever housing flexes which causes the misalignment i think.

also a change of gearbox oil might help

with all that you only made 9 bhp on dyno the corolla compressor

is not looking good for tuning .

when you say you had a trd kit fitted do you mean a clutch kit or the gear lever kit ?just seen bottom of your car mods its a quick shifter kit

Hasnt a Compressor got a shorter shift on it than a normal T-Sport anyway ?
