I have a 97 2.0 petrol picnic manual.

Had the waterpump & timing belt go on it. Had these replaced and the valves / head checked and it now runs...

But

On the dash I have constantly the Battery indicator (car starts first time, everytime no problems).

Add engine oil light (engine oil is reading the correct level on dipstick).

Is it worth getting these investigated, I am looking at replacing the car in Jan anyway, or do I cut my losses and get rid.

Eitherway, does anyone know of the reasoning behind these indicators?

Cheers...

Have they reconnected all the leads to the alternator and oil pressure switch?

If there are problems it might be worth getting them fixed depending on cost as a car with no faults will fetch more valve as if you sold it with the faults.

do you know where to look for the oil pressure swictch? I have disconnected and reconnected all the sensors / connectors on that side of the engine, just in case.

Lights still on.

I agree though your statement on the end sale price.

Would'nt have a clue on a picnic if you got a workshop manual that would tell you or others on here may know.

But if you are showing the oil pressure warning light id get it to a garage quick smart as a car with no oil pressure may as well have no oil in it, and just hope its a dodgey switch or lose connection.

Sorry i could'nt help you further best of luck with it mate

Cheers for the quick reply..

Not the oil pressure, that goes out as normal. It's (according to the handbook) Oil level. That again, according to the dipstick is bang on.

Unfortunatly all I have to work on is the standard picnic manual. There are no haynes type manuals available :(
