Hi all well i got my t sport today and am chuffed to bits with it. was up for 4750 but got it for 4300 so thats a start.comes with 47k and is black. but i have that brake problem which seems to be a big problem with a lot of owners on here,so going to sort that tomorrow.

But i also have a starnge noise at 2500rpm-3000rpm. sounds like something going around and also sounds abit drownie/wind blowing noise. i wonder if its a whell bearing???i have no signal on the dash saying anything is wrong with the engine so i am guessing the noise is something to do with the wheels or suspension. i am going to jack up the car tomorrow and wiggle the wheels to see if they have play.

oh and i will post some pics tomorrow too after a !Removed! good polish

And also what lowering kit/springs/coilovers would people recommend for my t sport???

Congrats on the purchase, sorry to hear your having issues already though, hopefully nothing serious..

Coileys - I have the Envy Coileys, awesome in my opinion, i would have suggested these but the last set have recently been sold, so id have to say tein.

Springs - Again probably tein, seem to be the more popular choice. Gmax are ok i prefer them over the TTEs, but my vote for springs alone would be with teins.

Your wind blowing noise could well be your door mirrors whistling.

It is not an uncommon problem on the Yaris , but can easily be cured by the careful application of some anti-draft felt in the mirror swivel joints.

There was a Toyota Tech Service Bulletin that covered it and it has been discussed quite a bit on these forums.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures

  • 2 weeks later...

here is a pic. springs put on yesterday went for Eibach ones. popped to fensport as them had them in stock. 35mm i think. might look lower after they have settled.

Right i have done a few searchs but could someone tell me which is the better option. performance cat or de cat???i have looked under car and noticed i have a sensor either side of cat. so i am guess they are gonna have to be put back in either road i go down.

how load is the de cat as i wanna hear myself think when i am driving lol

Looks good

You will get more power from a decat, but then on the flip side to this theres the worry of police and MOT time.

As for loudness it all depends on the system you go with to be honest.

I have the envy sports cat system with megan manifold and fujitsubo backbox on mine and its very loud :D but then thats what i want. An exhaust with just a decat runing off the standard manifold should be nice and noticable but not stupid to bring too much un-wanted attention or give you a headache

yeah i dont really wanna keep getting pulled over for noise pollution. my old car was so loud it made my vision blurred when at 3500rpm so i got it changed straight away lol.

so with the senors do they still work properly on de cat system???

I think the engine check light comes on with the de-cat but as Charlie said it does give you more power!

I didn't even know P1's had sensors in the exhaust?

P1's have them before the cat and before the middle box.

P2 have them in the manifold and before the cat

you'd be better off with a sports cat, no problem with sensors and no messing around MOT time, and if the cops stop you you'll have no trouble either.

I bought a 2004 Yaris TS in the summer with 7k on the clock. All I've done so far is lower it 35mm, cut the air box open and added a better cold air feed. I want to put a new exhaust on from the cat back i.e. just a back box. Is it straightforward to fit even if I just use a trolley jack to get under the car. Several of you seem to recommend Envy. I want someting that'll sound a bit more fruity but not something that's got a drainpipe sized pipe on show. ANy other recommendations.

Cheers guys.

i think i will go down that route as i would rather have a bit more power and not have to worry about getting pulled over. a friend of mine runs powerflow in my local down and he sell's performance cat. where would people here go to get a performance cat???envy??

definatly envy, they sell the mid section and sports cat and flexi down pipe for about £350. although they'll probably sell them seperatly if you ask. be made from higher grade stainless than what powerflow use.

einstein,

jap backboxes look better on a jap car that's why they're so big, but if you want a smaller one toyota will sell a TTE backbox not sure on price.

Or you could go custom, I think mongoose or supersprint do a system aswell.

cat back is new piping from cat all the way to backbox, but just the backbox is easy enough but the rubber mounts are a bit of a pain if your doing it yourself

You should be able to upgrade once gold's sorted, I know in the past some1 asked & they were given the option of either paying the difference or paying the full amount for gold & having the cost of the silver membership refunded, I'd assume the same would happen again
