Previa 2000 Problems - Radio & Sat Nav Expired

Is there some really knowledgeable/helpful person out there who can guide me in the replacement of the radio in a 2000 CDX Previa?

I could cope with the Sat Nav going on the blink and refusing to read the disk - I had a TomTom unit - but now the stereo won't read a disk either so I want to replace it. It was relatively easy to get at my '98 Previa radio but I'm lost on this one.

Hi Perry,

Presumably you have tried a head-cleaner disc on your unit without success. If not, give that a go first. If you have no luck and go ahead with replacement, I would be very interested in buying your old unit to play with - I may be able to use bits of it to update the Japan unit in my Granvia.

Sadly all references are to pre-2000 models and I have the new shape 2000-on which has a completely different radio housing :(

Hi Perry

It should be reasonably easy to fit a new head unit. I imported my car and although it came without any stereo/sat nav I have installed a double din DVD/CD/TV/radio without any headaches. If you pm me I'll try and help talk you through it.
