Mr2 Replacement Engine

I currently have a non turbo MR2 and want to keep the car but replace the engine with a turbo-ed one. Are the blocks different or can I just turbo my existing engine (with the obvious strenghted components). It might just be cheaper to buy an engine from a written of turbo model.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

you will need the folowing:

engine

loom

ecu

gearbox

possably engine mounts (think they're stiffer)

if you can find a written off tubby all the better. also go for a rev 3 and dont for get to uprate suspension brakes etc.

give fensport a call.

bear in mind that you may be better off selling your 2 and bying a tubby as they can be picked up quite reasonably. itll be easier/ cheaper to insure and all the bits that need uprating will be done leaving more money for mods etc

don't forget driveshafts, turbos have thicker driveshafts.

you can't turbo your engine as it simply isn't strong enough. if you can do all the work yourself, buy a written off turbo and do it, otherwise you'll be looking at about 4k to buy parts and for a garage to do it all.

normally a lot cheaper to just buy a standard turbo.
