I Love My Aygo But...

Yeah that's correct about it being a fault claim, that is because there is no insurance company to reclaim the outlay (what they pay for your repairs) from. I don't understand how you can have up to 3 fault claims in the space of 5 years and it to not affect your premium? That sounds like it's along the lines of having No Claims Bonus protection - but most Insurers offer that only if you have 5 or more years of NCB and also it's usually two claims in the space of 5 years. Not that you are bothered as it's your first car, but I'd be more intrigued as to how that exactly works.

I have no idea, though they did ask me how long I had my licence for which is 7 years. I only work in the legal recovery side of insurance myself!

Damage was pretty extensive bump-wise. The sill below the passenger door was completely dented in with all the paint gone within the dent and a couple of shallow scrapes/dents on the passenger door itself. Though apparently whatever way they had gone into my car had set off the side impact bar to the point there is a subtle bump coming out of my passenger door...so rather than changing the skin they're changing the whole door and the back end towards the wheel arch needs undented and repainte too.

I was given a box on wheels aka Vauxhall Agila for my courtesy car. It was...interesting to drive but completely rubbish on the motorway. The clutch was a lot less sensitive than the Aygo, don't know if that's the car or it's just been broken in!

Anyways, the car has been in the shop since Monday and I should hopefully get it back by middle of next week.

i feel ur pain i had exactly the same damage done to mine in car park from some *****. again no honesty. so i had to cough up roughly the same as you except my excess for 360. argh!!!

but yeh death to all unhonest fools

Similar thing happened to my sisters KA the other day but thankgod the person who did it was decent enough to put their phone number under the wiper.

On a different note I run over a fox the other day and it made the paintwork on the bumper flake off so the garage where I had it repaired a few months ago (from my stupid crash) are going to respray it because hitting a fox shouldn't make the paint fall off.

Hey guys,

I thought I'd never have to resurrect this thread but I guess I should warn anyone in NI that there may be an Aygo going about for cheap with false plates. Assuming they haven't burnt the thing or just abandoned it. Or taken it apart for parts. :crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

Anyways, the story is here:
