Center (stereo) Console Paint Took Off

Hi,

I have the following problem..

some weeks ago i went my car in a carwash

Unfortunatelly when they finished they put the ambi pur (the one used for nice smell) upside down

and the liquid fall on the center console (the stereo part)

as a result the color of the stereo console went off.

Do you think that the warranty can cover it??

Will they replace the stereo if i say that it happen when i was sweeping (towel) it??

I would think they would be wise to it? And is it fair to expect Toyota to pay for damage not caused by them....I think not but that's down to your conscience.

Have you approached the company that caused the damage and asked them to pay for the repair? That would seem to be the reasonable approach. Or maybe they would offer free valets that would offset the cost of you getting the part replaced?

Bad luck though, I would be extremely annoyed if it happened to my car.

If the company concerned is reputable it should have in place a liability insurance for circumstances such as yours! you do of course have to prove the company has been negligent.

Seems to me that the car wash people are responsible. They should have to take care of the damages.

of course the car wash people are responsible but what can you do if they say...

"OK... I'm sorry......"

for me.... you can't do nothing, just like i did... (maybe I'm stupid but...)

anyway. I don't think that I'll find a solution.....

btw i have seen that there are (for some cars) additional (second trademark) console covers...

have you seen something like this in your area / country for avensis??

Them ambi pur things are awful things, your lucky toyota use decent quality plastics. We had a peugeot 406 coupe in at work where one had leaked out and melted the platsic on the centre console. It cost just over 400quid for a new center console from peugeot.
