Auto Lock Please Help

can anyone tell me is it possible to set my alarm so it locks the car after 45 seconds, just incase i forget to lock it.

The new ones (4.3) come re locking themselves after 30 seconds. You can find the customer options for your model on the Toyota publications web site (you have to pay about £2.50 for an hour) or you can just ask the dealer. Either way I think they would have to set it by use of their computer. I don't think it is anything you can do yourself.

thanks anchorman, the car already locks up after 30 seconds but only if u unlock it and no doors are opened for that 30 secs, is that what u mean. can i ask what do u mean by (4.3)

There have been 3 generations of the RAV4.

The first is know as 4.1 (I think the 4 come from the 4 in RAV4), the second is known as 4.2 and we are currently on 4.3. I think these terms came from our American cousins, rather than Toyota themselves?

That is what I meant. Did I misunderstand your question? I don't think you can get it to lock after you've opened the door because of the risk of locking your keys in.
