i posted about puting 97 ron fuel in my car before.now the thing wont start at all.we spent ages looking at it. i noticed a sensor was hanging out at the bottom of the engine,possibley from the exhaust,any idea what this could be? and also who knows any decent mechanics around glasgow

Sounds like it may be the O2 sensor. :unsure: It`s died. Possibly fell apart due to a knock or just age. It plugs into the exhaust and sends info to the ECU about fuel mixture. If it aint working the car will run rough as buggery if at all. Sound familiar?

Find a good independent garage and get them to look at it. If it is the O2 sensor it`s just a screw in job. Cost about £70 but you can get universal ones cheaper. Try not to use a Toyota garage, It`ll cost 3 times that. :thumbsup:

thats what it looks like to me. i think the ppl who fitted my exhause may have done somthing with it,it obv has fallen out and bounced on the road while i tried to tow it. ill try and get it plugged back in then see if it works. fingers crossed!! i want to actualy get out and about in the car,hardly driven it since it left the bodyshop

well its fixed now and would you believe it was the fuel,drained it,new plugs,20 quid of petrol and that was it.ill be paying bp in bearsden a visit with a sample of their fuel.

Sue them for distress and costs... The yanks would probably add a few things to the list and end up with a 20 million dollar payout. :lol:

im hoping theres been a few cases and i can claim some money back from them,just hoping everythings 100% with the car,seems fint though. got an induction kit to fit tomorrow,glad i can spend on upgrading the car rather than repairing it
